Event Topic: Sound Insulation in Residential Buildings – Acoustic Resilient Floor Mat

Event Description: Environmental Protection Department (EDP) commissioned a study to find out overseas experiences and technical solution to reduce sound transmission between residential units.  The presentation will share study’s outcomes, technical information in designing and applying sound insulation in residential buildings, application in recent residential developments in Hong Kong and an issued practice note on the associated design and application.

Milwaukee Tool is an industry-leading manufacturer of heavy-duty power tools, accessories and hand tools for professional users worldwide.The aim is to understand more about noise reduction power tools that optimal for use in noise-sensitive environments.

Visit to Bosch Hong Kong

GBIUA ECF Project Group visited to Bosch Hong Kong on 10th February 2023. Bosch Hong Kong provides a wide range of technological products and solutions including power tools and building technologies. The aim is to understand more about noise reduction power tools that optimal for use in noise-sensitive environments.

Visit to Makita Power Tools (HK) Ltd

GBIUA ECF Project Group visited to Makita Power Tools (HK) Ltd on 6th January 2023. The aim is to understand more about noise reduction power tools that optimal for use in noise-sensitive environments.

The tour was guided by Victor Chan, Marketing Manager and Tony Li, Technical Supervisor.

GBIUA Dinner & Digital Technology Sharing

Smart Building Visit to V Walk

GBIUA guided a smart building visit to V WALK on 26 November 2022, which has deployed multiple smart IoT solutions to real-time monitoring of the building performance, from energy use, flooding control, visitor counts and shop security and etc.

V Walk is an innovative green retail building developed by Sun Hung Kai Properties, managed by Kai Shing Properties and situated atop MTR Nam Cheong Station. Ever since its deployment in 2019, V Walk continuous seeks for smart building solutions to conform to ESG internal standard requirements.

It was a fruitful day and thanks to the arrangement of Dr David Chan and his Smart Cities & Green Buildings Committee.

GBIUA is delighted to join Build4Asia

The last edition of Build4Asia was held in Hong Kong from 16 November 2022 to 18 November 2022. Build4Asia is Asia’s Innovative Technology Tradeshow for the Building, Electrical Engineering and Security Industries, organised by Informa Markets.

We are pleased to collaborate with the Environmental Protection Department again to promote sustainable development policies, to promote responsible green building projects, and to showcase our vision and mission with our industry peers.

In addition, this is the first time we introduce to the public our annual project ” the Quiet Renovation Pilot Scheme and our ECF Pilot Scheme for Reducing Environmental Nuisance during Renovation Works in the Community “.

Meanwhile. we are more than happy to announce that GBIUA will be the supporting organization of the upcoming Build4Asia 2023, which will return on 10-12 May 2023 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
