GBIUA - Greater Bay Area Institute of Urban Architecture

GBIUA is a member-driven association founded in 2019 that promotes advancement and development in a wide range of industry that concerns urban architecture. It is a non-profit-making charitable organization which maintenance is based on membership subscriptions and donations through different activities.

“Greater Bay Area” is an economic concept raised by the Chinese government to initiate the linkage of nine cities within the Guangdong Province and two special administrative regions, including Hong Kong, Macau, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Huizhou, and Zhaoqing. The blueprint shall encourage robust development within the region to secure the economic development and innovation to and for the country, by inducing mutually beneficial competition among cities, stimulating the cooperation between Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macau, and forging the area into a first-class bay area for residential, economic and tourist purposes.

Hong Kong is a city eminent for its autonomy and international quality, and has taken a famous role as a center of financial, logistic and commercial service since the “one country, two system” landed. Therefore, Hong Kong has its unique missions in the Greater Bay Area blueprint: to nourish economic development within the bay area; to articulate the role and functions of the Greater Bay Area on a national level; to provide support for prestigious industries in Hong Kong to expand further in the bay area and thus contribute to the bay area as one.

  • Promote sustainable development in the GB Area by uniting all elites from different disciplines to enhance the overall competitiveness and to build a brighter future.

Mission

  • Technology Advancement: – to nurture BIM professionals for the industry, promote the application of BIM, MiC, Robotics, IoT in the building Industries
  • To Promote Environmental and Sustainability Development: Smart City & Green Building, Carbon Zero & Green Energy, Indoor Air Quality and Standards & Guidelines
  • To act as a sharing platform for the academic, knowledge, skills and experience exchange for our members and other related parties
  • To uplift the overall quality of urban architecture to facilitate the economic development without compromising the eco-sustainability of the GB Area
