Green Building Committee

The vigorous development of the Greater Bay Area is just around the corner, and urban construction in the region will certainly increase significantly in the future. With the worsening global environmental problems and citizens’ pursuit of quality of life, green buildings are bound to become an important indicator of urban construction. Green Building refers to buildings that minimize the impact on the environment and improve the quality of life of users during the entire life cycle of the building: from the site selection and planning of a building or an entire community, to the design and construction procedures , the operation management and maintenance after completion, as well as the renovation and demolition of buildings, are related to the impact on the environment and people. In recent years, with the increasing awareness of environmental protection around the world, many countries and regions have begun to develop green buildings, in order to make newly built residential or industrial and commercial buildings more environmentally friendly. The Green Building Committee will promote green building standards, research, and professional cooperation in other related fields such as environmental protection technology, energy saving and waste reduction in the region. At the same time, the committee will contact the district governments to promote relevant policies to integrate the green building indicators of each district, and organize study tours and lectures to increase members’ awareness of green buildings.
